The History of the People’s Republic of China, installation, floor glue and acrylic on parchment paper, 140 x 90cm, 2009-2010
“The History of the People’s Republic of China” involves the best popular slogans every year over the past 60 years written on parchment paper, then pasted on to a piece of plexiglass in order of year. The finished work contains 100 sheets of paper. The parchment paper is crinkly after being smeared by glue, which creates a sense of layers and history, like an aged mottled wall.
