Shi Jing’s paintings evolves from his concept of “contact by vision”. “Contact by vision” is to use one’s eyes to touch, physically. In fact, “contact by vision” is a simplification of the journey of the process by which “vision” becomes “perception”. This concept continues to evolve in Shi Jing’s works.
“Dharma Garden“, a solo exhibition hosted by OV Gallery is another authentication of this artistic development. Without any conscious thought, there are many images kept unseen within us: an idol, a lover or things discarded, which comes back to us all the time; sometimes near, sometimes afar; in the dark or in broad daylight; as if etched in stones for a thousand year.
